How Does A Hookah Work?
Many don't
understand how the hookah works, although it is quite simple, as you can
see from the sketch below :

Basically,
the hookah runs in a cycle. it begins with the bowl which is located at
the top of the hookah, where we put our tobacco. We place the bowl on top
of the hookah base itself, and the base goes down all the way to the vase,
which has our water or other liquid substance in it.
When we suck
on the hose, we are creating a different level of air pressure inside the
hookah. Since the only opening of air that we have is our hose, we are
removing the air from the hookah, which causes the charcoal to heat
because of the air pressure change we are making inside.
Once the
charcoal is hot it burns the substances, inside the tobacco (such as
Glycerin).
Tips
And Tricks
1. When you
smoke your first time, in order to let the smoke flow and the charcoal to
heat, breathe big and long breaths the first few times.. that will make a
good flow of smoke in your hookah...
2. After a
while the charcoal might burn out the flavored tobacco. Try moving it
around on the bowl so it won't be in the center. That way you have a
longer smoking session.
3. Wash your
hookah carefully each and every time before and after you smoke. When your
hookah is clean, it allows the air from the bowl to the hose quicker.
4. If you are
tired of that normal look of the hookah, try putting a "stick light" inside the water.. it'll bright up the atmosphere in the room.
